Alfio Panettiere

Born in 1956 in Catania, I lived my childhood in a serene family atmosphere with what was indispensable. I enlisted in the Air Force at 19, the distance from my Sicily and my future wife, Silvana and nostalgia pushed and inspired me to write verses with the thoughts of a young man who had left behind what was most dear to him. I got married at 23 and have stopped writing ever since. I have two children and also three grandchildren whom I adore; I have experienced God in my life and this has positively influenced my choices. I have been retired for several years but I have always remained active: between family commitments, hobbies, interests, volunteering and unexpected events. Only in the last two years have I resumed my passion, writing and sharing what my heart has perceived in certain lived moments, past and present, with a different and more mature understanding of life. These verses express my life, my dreams, my sensations, my being.
