Erika Bartoli

I was born on August 30, 1976 in Reggio Emilia and I grew up in Bagnolo in Piano, a small town in the province, where I still live. I attended a technical institute for "Company secretaries and correspondents in foreign languages" and my favorite subject was Typing. In 1995 I participated, through the school, in the European Student Competition, "Protagonista la donna" with a poem. I have always been an introverted child who does not like being the center of attention; even now, in front of an audience, I panic and the adrenaline makes my brain fog up, for this reason I have always preferred to live my poetry alone, without sharing, except on a few occasions. I wrote my first poem at 8 years old, dedicated to a famous singer that I won't name. I have never stopped since. I have always noted everything down on paper and not verbally, because I was afraid of making a mistake and not being understood, something that still accompanies me today. For many years I was an employee of a company in the publishing field, prepress department, that is the of computer layout. I have carried out many tasks within the company, including: typist, switchboard operator, shipping office secretary, technical office secretary, macintosh pager. In 2016 and 2017 I collaborated, writing two articles, with the editorial staff of the town newspaper "Bagnolottanta" .Together with writing I've always had a passion for drawing and manual work, especially crochet with which I create everything; the important thing is that there is an imaginative and creative side. I am the mother of two splendid girls aged 20 and 14, who have undertaken studies in artistic paths. The older one obtained a diploma as a goldsmith designer, while the younger one began her studies to become an expert in sartorial fashion. Both girls are very good at drawing, in fact the first one made me the drawings of the logo, the cover image and the personal image. I am an extremely empathic person, a little pessimistic, careless, with little memory and with a soul girl; my affections say that I live on another planet. This opportunity, which Dantebus gave me, is really exciting for me, precisely because of my character, which I have summarized a lot in the lines above. Just thinking that anyone will have the opportunity to read one of my writings makes me enthusiastic and helps me in the process of comparing myself with myself, to have more self-esteem.
