Let me introduce myself... I was born in Melzo, in the province of Milan in 1957 and here I spend the seasons of my life. Painting is a passion that has always accompanied me, born on the school benches from early childhood and cultivated over time. In fact, time, which flows in the different seasons of life, has led me to love and observe landscapes with more and more interest, flowers, nature, the skies ... that I "feel" and "breathe" and to interpret them. Palette, light and colors blend in many nuances that involve the senses, arousing emotions; whether they are those of a sunset or a clear dawn, of the sea for that sense of freedom it can give, of the water, of the breath of the waves, the beauty of the mountains, even of the silence that "speaks", the call of the "heights ”; again, the beauty of the Lombard countryside with the flowery banks of the ditches: everything is offered by the imagination of creation: my sources together with flowers, of primary inspiration. Self-taught painter, after a first approach to oil colors in the school years, beginning in 1990 the watercolor adventure when I receive a box of watercolors as a gift that I still prefer today for the freshness, brightness and transparency of the colors. When working with watercolor one of the main characteristics is the strong dilution of the color with water, typical of this technique but the results are surprising because they are unpredictable. Painting "for pure passion" has become the journey inside ordinary life, in the 'meeting of colors in colors; they have a strong personality and as you roll them out you think about what “the finished work will look like”. Again, painting to understand, to know, to listen, because while you paint, "you listen to a painting", too. In the end it is an expression of the soul, of the heart, right there where all the emotions hide and pass through the marked beats. I am part of the G.A.M., Melzese artistic group and I actively participate in the various cultural and artistic initiatives of my city and in the area. Now another season of life surprises me, a new "time" opens before me and accompanies me as I experiment with new techniques of freedom in art, with the use of simple materials. The result is an abstract, modern, creative painting, free in new forms that materialize on paper or canvas while the picture comes to life. Will it arouse emotions in the eyes of the beholder? Maybe! … I would like them to reach people's hearts! Lorena Motta
