About this app

Paolo Danise, born in Naples on February 26, 1951, lives in Naples. Trained at the Federico II University, he led a "hospital" life as a hematologist for over 40 years. He currently carries out voluntary work and freelance work. He has published over 200 scientific works. For 20 years he has opened up to yogic practices: Sahaja Yoga, with the teaching of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Oki do Yoga, of which he obtained the title of instructor, following the path of master Masahiro Oki , continued today by master Yuji Yahiro. Travel has an ancient attraction for him, places often dreamed of through books have become realities to touch and photograph over time: Libya, India, Syria, Jordan, Nepal, Ladakh, Kashmir, Egypt, Oman, Morocco, Mexico, Guatemala, Uzbekistan, Japan, China, Turkey as well as Europe and North America. His photographic journey (to date around 30,000 shots), which began with a tout court tourist approach, over time has naturally evolved towards a search for emotional content, often portraying women and men unaware of the camera and therefore alone with the expression of own thoughts and feelings, which involve the viewer in their intensity and simplicity. "If the viewer feels emotion for what he sees, then that photo exists" For some years he has taken up the youthful experience of oil painting, drawing inspiration from his photos in which he infuses his own way of seeing colors and harmony. In addition to travel literature, his favorite readings concern Hermann Hesse, Marguerite Yourcenar, Naghib Mafuz, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Susanna Agnello Hornby, Amitav Ghosh. He created a personal exhibition of photos and paintings at the Wespace gallery in Naples and exhibited in a photographic collective at the Margutta gallery in Rome. On You Tube there are videos in which he organized some photographic series.
