About this game

Panzers to Leningrad takes place on northern sector of WWII Eastern Front in 1941 when Germans launch Operation Barbarossa. From Joni Nuutinen: by a wargamer for the wargamers since 2011

You are in command of the German Army Group North, tasked with striking through the Baltic states all the way to the grand prize, Leningrad, the cradle of Bolshevism. It is essential for the German Panzer Corps to seize Leningrad quickly before the Wehrmacht offensive is inevitably slowed down by the steady flow of Red Army reinforcements, worsening weather, the intricate logistics of fuel supply (which can be turned off from the settings), and terrain filled with forests and swamps.

Historical account: "German 1st Panzer Division was one of the first units to run into Soviet KV-tanks: Our companies opened fire at 800 yards, but it remained ineffective. We moved closer to the enemy, who for his part continued to approach us unconcerned. Soon we were facing each other at 80 yards. A fantastic exchange of fire took place without any visible German success. The Russian tanks continued to advance, armor-piercing shells simply bounced off them. Thus we were faced with the alarming situation of the Russian tanks driving through the ranks of 1st Panzer Regiment, which therefore about-turned and rumbled back with the KV-1s and KV-2s. In the course of that operation we succeeded in immobilizing some of them with special-purpose shells at very close range, 30 to 60 yards."

FEATURES:

+ Historical accuracy: Campaign mirrors the historical setup.

+ Thanks to in-built variation and the game's smart AI technology, each game provides a unique war gaming experience.

+ Good AI: Instead of just attacking on direct line towards the target, the AI opponent balances between strategic goals and smaller tasks like encircling nearby units.

+ Settings: Various options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, hexagon size, Animation speed, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, Square, block of houses), decide what is drawn on the map, and much more.

In order to be victorious, you must learn to coordinate your attacks in two ways. First, as adjacent units give support to an attacking unit, keep your units in groups in order to gain local superiority. Secondly, it is rarely the best idea to use brute force when it is possible to encircle the enemy and cut off its supply lines instead.

Joni Nuutinen has offered highly rated Android-only strategy board games since 2011, and even the very first scenarios are still actively updated several times each year. The campaigns are based on the time-tested gaming mechanics TBS (turn-based strategy) enthusiasts are familiar with from both the classic PC war games and legendary tabletop board games. I want to thank the fans for all the well thought-out suggestions over the years which have allowed these campaigns to improve at a much higher rate than what any solo indie developer could dream of. If you have advice on how to improve this board game series please use e-mail, this way we can have a constructive back and forth chat without all the limits of the store's comment system. In addition, because I have massive number of projects on multiple stores, it’s just not sensible to spend handful of hours each day going through hundreds of pages spread all over the Internet to see if there is a question somewhere -- just send me an e-mail and I will get back to you. Thanks for understanding!

This is a great game, very addictive. You have to keep moving and keep encircling if you're going to fight your way to Leningrad. Joni is a master designer and he has built a lot of fun, playability and strategy into this game series

One of my favorites in the series. Multiple settings can be made. Difficulty lies between easy to very challenging. Well worth the price. Outstanding game play.

I'm new to the series and this was my first campaign. Its a very fun and addictive game. Although its intuitive enough to pick up and play, it took me a couple of play-throughs to figure out all the details and nuances. A+
