About this app

The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde are delighted to present the chinuk wawa language app! The chinuk wawa language app offers language, practice games, and quizzes in everyday categories such as food, family members, colors, numbers, etc. It also offers a culture section that includes historical photos, basic Tribal history, and songs and stories in both chinuk wawa and English. We are excited to offer people everywhere a chance to learn chinuk wawa as well as learn a little bit about our Tribe.

I love Chinuk Jargon, and appreciate having this app because it's one of the only resources with audio clips. Still some bugs to work out, though. The audio refuses to play after maybe five minutes of use, and the Stories section causes the whole app to freeze up. I hope these issues can be worked out in the future. Hayas mahsie!

I was amazed to find this, I didn't even know it existed until I started looking. It's amazing, and I'm always excited to pull it out and match my actions to phrases, or household items to words so that I can make real world connections in my brain. I wish there was phrases for cooking, though (to cook, I am cooking, he/she/they are cooking). That's my only real suggestion, so I have something to practice while I'm making dinner! =D

sleek, intuitive, necessary if you love the PNW. still needs more users to tweak it into a better tool; a few of the dictionairy entries, the voice says the english word instead of wawa? doesn't bother me, i can read IPA, but its jarring. i'll update with other quirks i find. keep up the beautiful work!
