The Labor Code of Romania was adopted by Law no. 53 of January 24, 2003, published in the Official Gazette number 345 of May 18, 2011. Currently (August 2019) the Labor Code of Romania has been republished pursuant to art. V from Law no. 40/2011 for the amendment and completion of Law no. 53/2003 - Labor Code, published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, no. 225 of March 31, 2011, giving the texts a new numbering.
