Italian Civil Code (Civil Code of the Italian Republic. Royal Decree 16 March 1942, n. 262) - is an organic body of civil law provisions and legal rules of civil procedural law of general importance and incriminating rules. The code currently in force was issued with the Royal Decree of 16 March 1942, n. 262, regarding "Approval of the text of the Civil Code", and symbolically entered into force on 21 April of the same year (in reference to the conventional date of the foundation of ancient Rome) constitutes, together with the special laws, one of the sources of law Italian civil code as it is still in force in the current Italian Republic.
