About this app

Discover the extraordinary journey of Archbishop Prof. Sylvester Gamanywa, the Founder and National General Overseer of Wapo Mission International (WMI). In October 1984, Archbishop Prof. Sylvester Gamanywa embarked on a spiritual calling to undertake a 28-day fast, drawing inspiration from the story of Jesus Christ's 40-day fast in the wilderness, seeking divine guidance amidst profound spiritual challenges.

As a young and unpaid Gospel preacher, Archbishop Prof. Sylvester Gamanywa ascended Kwakoko Hill near Same town, choosing this solitary space for his extended period of prayer and fasting. During the initial 5 days of fasting, he received miraculous revelations and divine inspiration, including the vision to establish a mission organization, which later became the renowned Wapo Mission International, founded in 1984.

Upon completing the fast and returning home, Archbishop Prof. Sylvester Gamanywa anticipated immediate realization of the revealed visions. However, it took nine years before some of these revelations manifested. This app encapsulates a historical narrative of transformative events, showcasing the birth of new services and institutions under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
