What is the Bible?
The Bible is a record of God's actions in the world, and His purposes for all of creation. The writing of the Bible spanned over sixteen centuries and was the work of more than forty human authors. The Bible is an amazing collection of 66 books with very different writing styles, all of which contain the message that God wants us to receive.

This compilation of booklets contains an astonishing variety of literary styles. The Bible tells about the lives of good and bad people, about battles and travels, about the life of Jesus, and about the activities of the early church. Which is conveyed to us in the form of narratives and dialogues, in aphorisms and parables, in songs and allegories, in histories and prophecies.
The writings in the Bible are generally not written exactly as it happened. They were repeated and passed on by word of mouth for years, before finally being written down. But the same themes can be found throughout the book. Along with diversity, there is also the extraordinary unity that we can find.

So what is the Bible? In addition to all of the above, the Bible is:

A guide to living life to the fullest. Which gives us a roadmap for a life full of risks. Or in other words, the Bible is the anchor in our journey through the ocean of life.

A repository full of incredible stories for children and adults. Remember about Noah and the ark? Joseph's colorful robes? Daniel in the lions' den? Jonah and the fish? Jesus parables? These stories emphasize the triumphs and failures of ordinary people.

The shelter is in trouble. People who are in pain, in agony, in prison, and in grief tell how turning to the Bible gives them strength when they are feeling down.

A treasury of insights into who we are. We are not insignificant robots, but wonderful creatures from Allah who loves us and gives us a purpose and a destiny.

A resource book for everyday life. We find standards for our actions, guidelines for knowing right from wrong, and principles to help us in a confused society where so often “anything goes.”
