Portions of the Bible is translated into 1878 for the first time in Afrikaans by CP Hoogenhout, the gospel, A Pannevis and SJ du Toit, full gospel church. The first complete Bible was only published in 1933. A revised edition published in 1953. This translation is known today as the 1933/53 translation and remains a very popular traditional translation is translated from the Hebrew, Apocryphal books, Greek and Aramaic source texts.
