About this game

The Game of Life is a cellular automaton devised by Dr John Conway in 1970. The game is a zero-player game, meaning that its evolution is determined by its initial state. One interacts with the Game of Life by creating an initial configuration and observing how it evolves.

The rules of Life:
1. Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if by needs caused by underpopulation.
2. Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by overcrowding.
3. Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives, unchanged, to the next generation.
4. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours cells will come to life.

Features:
☆ Change the colors
☆ Change simulation speed
☆ Change the size of the world
☆ Create or modify the initial configuration
☆ Create random patterns
☆ Insert alive cells while running the simulation
☆ Select the edge wrapping behavior
☆ Color gradient with cell age
☆ More than 850 predefined patterns!
☆ Select your favorite patterns
☆ Search patterns

Mostly great, but has a lot of bugs. The grid sometimes has lines so thick it becomes impossible to add cells in draw mode. Moving around sometimes erases cells if they go off screen, such as when zooming in on a large pattern then back out. It's also not possible to restart a simulation from the beginning pattern (like in the web version) unless that pattern is saved as a unique pattern first. This makes minor adjustments tedious.

l love it! really fun simulator! defintely can spend some time with this. I rate it 4 stars for now as i hope there is an update where 1) we can play a simulation in a step-by-step mode to see the progress/regress in a simulation run and 2)the grid doesnt reset itself when we have to shrink the app. hopefully this can be rectified in a future update. awesome app! recommended!

This game really is hard to review. It's more of a thought experiment then a actual game so I'm just going to talk about the controls. It's pretty simple to use, but it can be annoying when you try to move across the screen but end up messing up your cells because you were in paint mode. It would be helpful if there was an undo button. Aside from that, it would be nice if there was a slider in place of the arrows for speeding up time and resizing the map.
