About this app

Avaya Workplace™ integrates your Android device with your office Avaya Aura® communications environment and delivers mobile voice & video VoIP calling, cellular call integration, rich conferencing, instant messaging, presence, visual voicemail, corporate directory access and enterprise call logs.

Key Capabilities:
• VoIP calls – Lower your mobile service charges by making VoIP calls over Wi-Fi or mobile data networks
• Conceal Your Mobile Phone Number - Calls made with Avaya Workplace™ are handled by your office communication system and will display your office calling line ID, not your mobile phone number
• Cellular Voice integration – If VoIP isn’t your best option, then traditional cellular voice service can be used and calls will still be routed through your office communication system
• Call Mobility – VoIP roaming between Wi-Fi and 3/4G networks, and call handoff between cellular voice and VoIP
• Single Number Contact – Choose to have incoming office calls ring on your Android phone and/or any other phone you may want to use
• Visual voicemail – Enables you to see who left you a voice message and when it arrived. Messages can be played in any order.
• Instant Messaging – Exchange text messages and multi-media file attachments with archival/retrieval
• Presence status – View the Presence status of colleagues
• 24X7 call logs shows all office line call activity regardless of which device was used or when calls arrived
• Corporate Directory Integration – Search for corporate contacts and create a list of favorites
• Auto-configuration of settings

This app limits the number of devices that can be installed per extension and it is just short of a useful number. I work remotely, with no access to a desk phone, and have a laptop, tablet for travel, a work cell and personal cell I attempted to install the app on. With the 4th device, I exceeded the number of devices allowed. I assume this means it's limited to 3 devices. When I attempted to remove it from one of the devices to allow install on the last, I continue to receive the error.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems. Please contact your organization's administrator to increase the number of simultaneous device registrations. On Avaya Aura, this can be set up to 10 simultaneously connected devices

This app now drains my battery and my phone is dead by mid-afternoon. It keeps turning on me phone's display every few seconds, though there is no notification. So I had to turn it off. Also now when I pick up my extension & finish the call. The app will ring again on my phone as if the call just came in. All these started recently when phone updated to Android 12. I deleted all data and reinstalled at least twice with no improvement. No other app is doing this after the update.

The client does not honor the Do Not Disturb setting or free/busy information. This is highly disruptive during meetings. Client also takes over control of the bluetooth connection when the phone rings, requiring either a power cycle of the headset or logging out of the app to let any other application use the bluetooth device again. Lastly, instead of a pop up to accept or reject calls, an incoming phone call switches the phone to the app, switching away from work in progress. All in all, a bare minimum phone app, but not a polished communications tool.
