About this app

With AT&T Messages you can send and receive text and pictures messages from your tablet or smartwatch. Your messages are stored in the network so you can continue the conversation even when you switch devices. AT&T Messages uses your AT&T mobile number, so whether you send messages from your phone or tablet or smartwatch, everyone will know the message is from you.

To use AT&T Messages on your Android tablet (version 7 of the Android operating system and higher), press install, then open the app and log in using your AT&T User ID and you are ready to go!

Note: You must opt-in to AT&T Messages Back up and Sync app on your AT&T Smartphone before logging into the AT&T Messages for Tablet app.

Key Features:
• AT&T Messages uses your mobile phone number regardless of which device you use.
• View, manage and respond to messages from your phone, tablet or smartwatch. For example, start a text message conversation on your phone and continue it on your tablet, or manage messages online and text a response from your smartwatch.
• Conversations are organized by person - Communications are organized by person and sorted by when you receive them.

Requires Android 7 OS or higher tablet. Your texts are copied to and stored in your network inbox so that they are available on the smartwatch and tablet. An unlimited messaging plan is highly recommended with this application. Compatible device required. Standard messaging and data rates apply.

My Samsung Tablet was supposed to sync with Samsung S-7 on ATT. Every year it gets more and more difficult or impossible to get the tablet using this App to accept a login. Called ATT tech support and they said "check to see if you have latest version." Normally the latest update would be pushed to the device, right? AT&T just stalling with clunky server issues, maybe, but can't use this app on tablet for now.

Absolutely horrible. I hate the way it populates every text you gave sent for a week. Makes device unusable while it populates old text. HORRIBLE! Why does it sync every text I have sent. 4-3-23, decided to give it another try. Been sitting for about 10 minutes while it populates messages from a week ago, no way to stop it. Trash app. Why does it do this? I do not need to see the text I read over a week ago

Not sure what the problem is for most of the other reviews. Only problem I had was figuring out the right user id and password to use since my global ATT id wouldn't work. Once I figured it out it works great on my Amazon Fire 8 plus tablet. Syncs with my phone automatically. My guess is most people don't have message backup and sync turned on in their messaging app on the phone or use a third party texting app on their phone instead of the one it came with.
