About this app

Established in 1986, Masjid-El-Noor is one of the oldest Muslim organizations in Canada. Situated at 277 Scott Rd, Toronto ON. Initially was a church which was later transformed into the towering institution that it is today. With Allah’s (SWT) blessing and our community’s support, the building was expanded and renovation was completed in the early 2000’s.

With usable area of 2500 sq. ft, the institution encloses spacious prayer halls for brothers and sisters, 3 well-equipped classrooms for Islamic Education, and a kitchen. A mortuary is also present to serve the deceased within our community as part of our burial services. To ensure accessibility for all visitors, we also have ramps with designated parking spaces.

Masjid El Noor has moved beyond a neighborhood mosque and has grown into a multidimensional center that serves as a hub to unite the residents in the surrounding community. It houses an extensive repertoire of religious and educational programs as well as highly needed social services.

We recognize the need to supplement education with healthy recreational outlets for our youth. It is with this mindset that we host youth programs and offer volunteers hours which are well recognized. We understand that a holistic approach is necessary to cater to our congregation and beyond. This is why we are heavily active in collaborating with other Muslim organizations in organizing programs that cater to our community’s diverse needs

To provide guidance on all Center-related matters, Masjid-El-Noor governance is comprised of an elected Management Committee of 15 members which ensure that a system of checks and balances is consistently maintained within the organization.

The Center can be easily reached by car and public transportation and is open for the five daily prayers. Nearly 700 worshippers make up the Friday congregation for the Jummah prayer.

While much has been accomplished since the Center was first built, we pray that we can continue to grow to better serve our community. A’meen.
