Medical Physics can then be grouped into several sub-fields (specializations), namely Radiotherapy Physics, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Physics, and Nuclear Medicine Imaging Physics. These fields are also closely related to other fields of science such as Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering and Health Physics.

Who is a medical physicist?
Medical physicists are individual professionals who practice Medical Physics. Becoming a medical physicist requires structured education and training on the concepts and techniques of applying physics in the medical field. Medical physicists may work in health care, academic, or research facility institutions. Medical physicists working in a clinical setting are health workers protected by law, who have undergone structured educational training in clinical concepts and applications who are competent to practice independently in the sub-field (specialization) of Medical Physics.
