About this app

French is considered to be the most beautiful language in the world; it’s also the second most popular language in the world after English, is one of the two official languages of the Olympic Games, and is spoken in more than 43 countries world-wide. Many successful businessmen and IT specialists also speak French – maybe it’s time you join them? Download and use the app ‘Learn French from Scratch’ and you’ll already begin to speak good French in only a week. “Is this really possible?” you might ask. It may be a surprise but, according to statistics, in day-to-day communication, the average person uses only 300-350 different words, yet is still able to express him or herself fluently. This is because 90% of everyday conversation consists of words from a vocabulary of this size. Therefore, in order to communicate fluently in French, one needs to learn only these 300 most widely used words. Especially for you we’ve selected and added to our convenient mobile app only the most necessary and frequently used words for daily conversation. Download the ‘Learn French from Scratch’ app, travel and speak the language fluently without a phrasebook, go abroad to study in France, and build your own successful business!

Download the “Learn French from Scratch” app and install it. It takes less than a minute, just follow these instructions:
- Download the app
- Install it on your mobile device (tablet or smartphone)
- Start learning French.

Features of the “Learn French from Scratch” app include:
- It’s compatible with 99% of mobile devices,
- The app doesn’t need the internet, and doesn’t use slow the system with images while running it,
- It doesn’t increase battery consumption.
- The app supports both English and Russian at startup, and lets you choose your native language.

How does the application work?

The program displays a random French word, along with its variants and a translation into English (or Russian). A pronunciation guide will also appear under the word to help you learn to say it correctly. The program will keep showing you each French word, until you succeed in learning it. The app considers that you’ve internalized and learned a word after you’ve translated it correctly five times in a row, and will then take that word out of the learning cycle.
The app has a statistics menu which shows how many words you’ve learned, how many words you have left to learn, and how many mistakes you made and are allowed to make before the French words are considered to have been learned. You can reset the data statistics, change the native language of the app, or reset the French language learning process at any time.

I'm enjoying it. Seeing the words spelled out and hearing the proper pronunciations are both effective teaching methods. It's also cool that it doesn't need internet. On the negative side: Since I'm English, learning French, shouldn't it show English words and ask the student to choose the correct French equivalent? It just feels backwards. Actually, I would like to have access to both lists - English to French and French to English. That would certainly reinforce retention. Christine

Under rated app, I was looking for something like this for memorising words. Would be good if there was top 1000 words as a level 2. The concept of the app could be applied to many languages.

It would be useful to add typing the words as a test. Choosing from a list of answers is easier and I believe it simulates the short term memory more than anything else.
