He said: I have such-and-such and Surat Al-Baqarah. He said: (Do you have Surat Al-Baqarah?) He said: Yes. He said: (Then go, for you are their commander). Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, who said: A good hadith. It was narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, who said: (Everything has a hump, and the hump of the Qur’an is Surah Al-Baqarah) narrated by Al-Tirmidhi.

The virtue of Ayat Al-Kursi was mentioned in a number of hadiths, including the hadith of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, in which Satan came to him one day, in which it says: (When you go to bed, recite Ayat Al-Kursi from the beginning until you conclude {Allah, there is no god but He, the Ever-Living, the Ever-Subsisting. } (Al-Baqarah: 55), and he said to him: There will be a guardian over you from God, and no devil will approach you until morning, and they were the most keen on doing good, so the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: (But he has told the truth in you, and he is a liar)? Narrated by Al-Bukhari. And his saying May God’s prayers and peace be upon him: (O Abu Al-Mundhir! Do you know which verse from the Book of God is with you is greater? He said: I said: {Allah, there is no god but He, the Ever-Living, the Ever-Subsisting}. He said: He struck my chest and said: (By God, may knowledge bless you, Abu Al-Mundhir) Narrated by Muslim. And his saying, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him, to the one who asked him about marriage: “Don’t you have the Ayat Al-Kursi, Allah? There is no god but He?” It is Ayat Al-Kursi) narrated by Al-Tirmidhi. And his saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: (Whoever recites Ayat Al-Kursi after every prescribed prayer, nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise except death) narrated by Al-Nasa’i.

Surah Al-Baqarah recited by Hussam Al-Din Abbad. The virtue of the endings of Surat Al-Baqarah included some hadiths, among which we mention: Gabriel’s saying to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he was sitting with him: (I give good tidings of two lights that you have been given that no prophet before you was given: the opening of the Book, and the endings of Surat Al-Baqarah, you will not read. With a letter from either of them unless I gave it to him.” Narrated by Muslim. And his saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: (The two verses from the end of Surat Al-Baqarah, whoever recites them in a night, are sufficient for him) Agreed upon. And his saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: (God concluded Surat Al-Baqarah with two verses, which He gave me from His treasure that is under the Throne, so learn them, and teach them to your women, for they are prayer, the Qur’an, and supplication) narrated by Al-Hakim in “Al-Mustadrak”, and he said: This is an authentic hadith according to Al-Bukhari’s conditions. And his saying, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: (God Almighty wrote a book two thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, and He revealed in it two verses, with which He concluded Surat Al-Baqarah. It should not be recited in a house for three nights, then a devil approaches it) Narrated by Al-Tabarani with a good chain of transmission. On the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, he said: I did not see anyone with reason sleeping until he recited these verses from the end of Surah Al-Baqarah. The effects of its virtue are many.
