The translation of the Misykat Al Anwar Book, among its contents, discusses light in the sense of special people

It is known that the secret of light and its spirit is its appearance to the power of perception. However, perception depends, apart from the presence of light, also on the presence of eyes that have the power to see. Even though light is said to be something that is visible and visible, there is no light that is visible and visible to the blind. Thus, it can be concluded that the "soul (spirit) that sees" is the same as visible light, in its position as an element that cannot be absent, or must be present, for perception.

In fact, based on this, the "soul (spirit) that sees" has a higher position because it has the power of perception and with it a perception can also be realized. As for light itself, it does not have the power of perception nor does it create perception, but it only "stores perception". That is why the word "light" is more appropriately used for "light that sees", rather than just any light.

So, people also use the word "light" for "the light of the seeing eye", as in the expression about bats: "The light in their eyes is weak", about people with short-sighted eyes: ":The light of their sight is weak" and about blind people: "He has lost the light of his eyes ”. Why is the black color in the eyeballs said to "focus and strengthen the light of the eye." Likewise regarding the eyelashes that surround the eyes, and by Divine wisdom are made black, in order to "focus the light of the eyes". As for the color white: "refracts the light of the eye" and therefore "weakens the light", so that someone who continuously looks at something that is gleaming white, especially sunlight, then the light in his eyes will weaken and disappear as something weak disappears when is on the strong side.

By the description above, you know that the “seeing spirit” is called “light” and that it is even more worthy of that name. This is the second meaning, namely that which applies among special people.
