Among the contents of the book knitting happy households discusses meaning

Obeying Sharia is one of the most basic signs whether a family is religious or not. Obeying sharia means carrying out obligations, doing halal actions and staying away from forbidden things.

Rasulullah said for a man to choose a wife who is religious, "So that you will be lucky." If a religious wife can bring good luck in the household, then so can a religious husband. Implicitly, this hadith also guarantees that "building a religious household is a must to achieve true happiness." What is called a religious household

Abdul Adzim Abadi in the book Aunul Ma'bud interprets the word religious person (dzatiddin) as a person who uses religion as a standard of judgment in all things. Not based on worldly judgments. Fostering a religious household is not easy but it is also possible and must be continuously endeavored by every family.

Trying earnestly and continuously to achieve that goal is what the Prophet meant at the end of the hadith "taribat yadaaka". That is, building a religious household is not easy but must be an ideal goal that every Muslim must strive for in earnest.

One of the first steps to fostering a religious household is to comply with sharia. There are two categories of the most basic Islamic Sharia, namely commands and prohibitions. And the most important sharia orders are in the pillars of Islam as the words of the Prophet in the hadith of Umar bin Khattab, which boil down to obeying the five basic commandments which are the main pillars of Islam, namely the creed, praying five times a day, zakat, fasting Ramadan, and hajj once in a lifetime if you can.
While the sharia prohibition that must be avoided is an act that is included in the category of grave sins. Adz-Dzahabi in the book Al-Kabair states that there are 70 kinds of major sins that must be avoided by every devout Muslim. Of the 70 major sins, there are at least six of the most important major sins, namely shirk, killing, stealing, adultery, drinking alcohol (liquor), and drug consumption.
A family that adheres to sharia as mentioned earlier is called a pious family.
If Imam Ghazali in his Bidayatul Hidayah book states that a person will be able to be istiqamah in his piety, if he is selective in choosing friends, then likewise a family will be consistent with its obedience if it can be selective not only in choosing friends but also choosing good and right neighbors. What is meant by good neighbors and environment are as follows:

First, educated neighbors. Educated neighbors have a good lifestyle, behavior and insight. So important is living in an environment of smart people that Imam Ghazali said, “A smart enemy is better than a stupid friend.

Second, pious neighbors. Don't be neighbors with a wicked family who likes to commit big sins without stopping. Because friends and neighbors with such an environment will make the spirit of doing good deeds decrease and resistance to immoral behavior will loosen. In QS Al-Kahf 18:28 Allah says "and do not follow those whose hearts We have neglected to remember Us, and to follow their desires and their circumstances are transgressive.

Third, don't live next door to a materialistic and consumptive family. Islam recommends working hard and there is no prohibition against getting rich. But Islam prohibits a hedonic lifestyle, namely a life that is luxurious, extravagant and worships property. Living in an environment like this will be easily infected or at least will not increase the virtuousness that has been cultivated so far

With the right intentions and commitments supported by a good circle of friends and neighbors, God willing, fostering a pious and sharia-compliant household will easily become a reality.
