About this app

The Concept Tool breaks the learning process down to help learners understand mathematical concepts. They learn through a systematically structured step-by-step process, from their initial introduction to a concept to their mastery of it.

The Concept Tool was developed based on K-5 Common Core State Standards (CCSS). It contains 280 parts over 4 domains—Numbers & Operations (133), Geometry (42), Measurement & Data (52), and Operations & Algebra (53).

The Concept Tool turns abstract math concepts into real-life situations using visual modeling. Learners can actively manipulate the digital environment, which helps them build a concrete understanding of the concepts involved and increase retention.

Provision of quality teaching resources and the utilization of digital teaching tools such as this help lessen the burden of teacher prep and close the teacher quality gap.

The Concept Tool overcomes the shortcomings of physical class materials–high prices, risk of loss, wear and tear, etc.–with increased accessibility and convenience since it’s available on desktop/laptop and tablet computers. And because its content is online, updates, error/bug fixes, etc., can be implemented quickly on a regular basis.

The Concept Tool was created using the Unity game engine, best known and used for visualizing shapes both 2D and 3D, figures, and real-life objects.
