It is hoped that this book will be a contribution that can become a standard reference in efforts to develop the quality of the teaching profession for the future. Therefore, as the Dean of FKIP-UT, I welcome and congratulate the publication of this book, which leads and follows current developments in science, technology and science and is in line with the needs of society.

In any nation's civilization, including Indonesia, the teaching profession has strategic significance because the person carrying it has a true duty in the process of humanity, intelligence, civilization and building national character. Strategic meaning for teachers also necessitates the recognition of teachers as professionals in the field of education. The birth of Law (UU) no. 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers, is a concrete form of professional recognition of the teaching profession with its various dimensional and dynamic attributes.

Advances in science and technology, especially in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), are experiencing extraordinary speed and acceleration, and are putting pressure on human behavior in meeting the needs and demands of social life. Along with the development of the era of information and communication technology (ICT), the developments that are expected to occur regarding teacher professionalism in the future should lead to improving the quality of teachers according to developments in that era. Real professional teachers are teachers who carry out their main tasks and functions autonomously, have comprehensive competence, and have high intellectual power.

Dear readers, the book entitled "Profile of Future Teachers Based on Educational Technology" is the work of Ms. Dr. Asnah Said, M.Pd, lecturer at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Open University (FKIP-UT). This book contains a discussion of the results of studies and analysis as well as innovative thinking in the context of strengthening teacher professionals in facing life in the 21st Century era.
