A series of global developments after the 2008 global recession raised questions regarding the future of human civilization after Western civilization had difficulty leading the world again. The shift of the center of global economic growth from the West to the East, the decline of US global influence in various areas of global conflict, has encouraged the emergence of studies on the decline of Western civilization.

The difficulty of Western civilization in maintaining its central position as the locomotive of world change today has opened up opportunities for the emergence of China as a competitor in the competition for global influence. At the same time, recent studies also show that in 2070 Islam will become the largest religion in the world. This development is a challenge for the Islamic world to contribute ideas for the future of civilization that will determine the lives of all humans.

Based on the dynamics of global change, this book was written as a contribution to Islamic thought to the world. This book, entitled Progressive and Graceful Civilization, is basically an Islamic view of civilization which is the embodiment of the principle of rahmatan lil alamin which continuously flows not only to all humans but also to the entire universe as promised by Allah. Hopefully this book can be useful as an alternative to Western civilization which is gradually starting to fade.
