Islam is a Deen revealed by Allah Ta'ala to make humans happy, not the other way around. It is impossible for Allah Ta'ala who is Rahim (Most Merciful) to send down rules/teachings that hurt His creation. However, if there is a law that humans feel is unpleasant, then that is purely because of the fairness of Allah Ta'ala and also because of humans' limitations in judging it.

Allah Ta'ala in the Qur'an, commands the people to refer all their life problems to this deen (religion). The Word of Allah Ta'ala:

"And (so that) you turn your face towards this straight religion and do not join the group of polytheists." (Yunus :105).

However, it is also sunnatullah that among humans there are those who want to accept Islam as it is, there are also those who outright reject everything that comes from the Holy Book. Even within the Muslim community, there are also those who reject Islamic concepts related to aspects of life such as politics, economics, social and others. These are people who are influenced by the way of life of non-Muslims (al-mutagharribun=westernized) who are attacked through the media, colonialism, education and so on.

This group is almost no different from non-Muslims in terms of perspective (insight), method of thinking and lifestyle, very far from the instructions of the Al-Qur'an and the instructions of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

If someone says that Indonesia is a battlefield for ideological battles, that is actually what is happening. Because the battle between ideologies in this country is clearly visible. For example, a fight on the political stage. We can see that in every election or presidential election, it is always characterized by ideological battles; between Islam and Anti-Islam. Between those who want the role of religion (Islam) in governing the State and those who are against the participation of Religion in the administration of State affairs.

This has been happening since before the Proclamation of the Republic. At that time, the Islamic camp (read: political parties) openly demanded that the Republic of Indonesia, which would be proclaimed at that time, be a state based on Islam. On the other hand, political forces want this country to be a national state, and even want it to be a godless country at all.

From era to era the struggle continues, although with changing figures and different parties. The point is that ideological battles are inherited from era to era. In the Old Order era the struggle was clear. Likewise in the New Order Era, up to the current Reformation and Post-Reformation Era.
