Islam teaches humanity to be united and not divided. The difference is that Muslims were ordered by Allah to unite on the basis of unity in the form of hablullah, the rope of Allah which is then interpreted as Allah's religion, namely Islam. However, in essence, humans are required to unite if they want happiness.

Humans must realize that they need each other if they want their needs to be met. And that is proof that Islam is in harmony with human nature. Ideas and thoughts about unity, mutual help and cooperation as explained above are one of the thoughts expressed by KH. Hasyim Asyari in the book entitled Muqaddimab Al-Qanun Al-Asasi Li Jam'iyyah Nabdlatul Ulama'.

Humans as individuals who are an inseparable part of society, from time to time naturally grow and develop. Every social group must experience development, whether slow, moderate or fast. Therefore, it can be said that no society has stopped its development.

This growth and development can come from internal dynamics within itself, or the result of interactions with fellow members of society as a system, which is very open because it is always changing and always adapting.

The reality of humans as social creatures is proven when they cannot live alone. In order to face nature and the environment, humans are required to always be friendly with other humans. The human instinct to live together with other people is called a social animal because it has the instinct to live together.

In Islam, this concept is called habl min an nas (relationship between humans) which is a dualism of ideal relationships with habl min Allah (human relationship with Allah). Development is also something that cannot be separated from human life, both individually and collectively.

For example, the difference in residence between one community and another certainly influences the problems they face. For this reason, in order to understand the phenomena that exist in the thinking of a person or group of people or religious institutions, a socio-historical approach is needed, among other things.

KH's thoughts. Hasyim Asyari regarding unity can be grouped into two types of unity, (I) national unity, which means unity based on national equality. (2) religious unity, namely unity based on the same religion, namely Islam, and (3) Unity for Madzhab.

Hopefully this translated book will always bring benefits to anyone who reads it. May Allah SWT make this charity a blessing for all of us. Amen.
