How We Get Enlightenment from Hadith

The book Digest of Hadith Qudsi (al-Mawa'idz fi al-Ahadits al-Qudsiyah) is a collection of special hadiths. The Qudsi hadith is indeed a very special hadith. Different from the Prophet's hadith in general, the meaning of the hadith is a revelation from Allah. The pronunciation is the composition of the Prophet Muhammad saw. This book contains 38 Qudsi hadiths which are full of advice and wisdom that we should rely on.

The author of this book is H ujjatul Islam, Abu Hamid al-Ghazali. He was a multidisciplinary scholar: an expert on tafsir, hadith, Sufism, kalam science, and even philosophy. In contrast to al-Ghazali's other books, this book contains purely Qudsi hadith without notes and comments from al-Ghazali.

Why? The reason is clear. Al-Ghazali seems to think that the advice, wisdom and messages contained in the 38 hadiths in this book are clear. The sentences composed by the Prophet Muhammad were very eloquent, clear and pithy. No additional explanation needed. This also shows the sanctity of the Qudsi hadith itself.

This book is one part of the al-Ghazali book series published by Turos Pustaka. This book was translated from Imam al-Ghazali's book Majmu'atu ar-Rasail which collects 26 of al-Ghazali's works. This book series consists of 5 books: Light Above Light, Laduni Science, The Essence of Hadith Qudsi, The Path of Seekers of Allah and Freedom from Misguidance.
