About this app

This Android application is an explanation of Al-Gazzali's Fiqh Thoughts (450-505 1058-1111) by Prof. Dr. H. Syamsul Anwar, MA. In Pdf format.

Al-Gazzali is a great figure of Islamic thought who is known to have mastered various scientific fields. He is known as a theologian, philosopher and even Sufi. Many figures have studied these aspects of thought. In fact, this study has become a hot topic of conversation and has become a reference for many Muslims throughout the world.

Apart from being known as a figure who masters the various fields above, al-Gazzali is also an expert in the field of law. However, because there are too many studies of Al-Gazzali's thoughts outside the legal field, his position as a legal expert has almost gone unnoticed. As revealed by the author of this book, almost countless figures have written about Al-Gazzali, especially in fields other than law above. Meanwhile, in the legal field, not many studies have been carried out.

It seems that the author of this book wants to fill the empty space regarding the lack of studies of Al-Gazzali's thoughts in the field of law. What is interesting is that the field of law was the beginning of al-Gazzali's scholarly career. This can be seen in the early works he produced such as al-Mankhul and his official duties as a professor of Islamic law at both the Nizamiah Baghdad College and the Nizamiah Naisabur College. In fact, his attention to the field of law continued until the end of his life, shown by his last work, al-Mustasfa min 'Ilm al-usul, which he finished writing approximately two years before his death.

In short, studying al-Gazzali's ushul fiqh thinking is quite relevant work. Because apart from being a theologian, philosopher and even Sufi, Al-Gazzali is a quite capable legal figure. Hopefully the publication of this book can enrich Islamic legal thinking, especially in the field of theoretical foundations of Islamic law. Happy reading!
