This Android application is an explanation of the book entitled Javanese Folklore by Dr. Purwadi, M. Hum. In Pdf format.

This textbook is used to facilitate the teaching and learning process in Javanese Folklore courses. Javanese folklore spread across various regions and lasted for centuries. The passing on of folklore from generation to generation is mostly done through oral tradition. As cultural wealth, folklore apparently contains local wisdom values ​​which are still relevant to be used to solve various cultural problems that occur in the current era of globalization.

By examining the definition, function, nature and types of folklore, we will know the implicit and explicit meanings contained in it. This oral tradition which has local wisdom value can strengthen national identity.

It is necessary to socialize and publish cultural heritage found throughout the archipelago, with the hope that society in general and the younger generation in particular can give adequate appreciation.

The presence of this textbook is an ongoing effort to document folklore in Java. There are still many types and forms of Javanese folklore that have not been recorded in this book. Hopefully there are other parties who are willing to continue the work of cultural documentation, so that there is a more complete and continuous reference.
