Aqidah Ahlussunnah Waljamaah

Derived from the word دْقَعلا which means: طبَّرلا (to bind), مارب لإا (to strengthen), مَكاْحلإا (to strengthen), ق ثوَّلتا (strong/trusted), ةّوقب دَشلاو (strengthen / bind firmly), ك ساملتا (hold tight), ةَّصارلما ( mutually binding, solid arrangement), and تابثلإا (establish); and the words ينقليا (confidence) and َلجا ْز م (to ensure) come from it.

And دْقَعلا is an antonym of َلحا ل (unravel, open, release), for example: هَدَقَع ه د قْعَي اًدْقَع (has / is / will bind it, binds / ties / bonds), comes from: ةَدْق ع ْين مَليا حَكاِّلناَو (the bond of oath, and marriage bond).

Aqidah in Terms (Terminology):

Aqidah in terms is a matter that must be confirmed by the heart, and the soul feels calm about the matter so that it becomes a belief that remains unmixed by doubt. This means that strong beliefs are not affected by the doubts of those who believe in them. It must be in accordance with reality, not accepting doubts or prejudices. If it does not reach a definite level of belief then it cannot be said to be aqidah. It is called aqidah because humans believe in it in their hearts.
