This book on electronic measuring instruments and how to use them covers the use of digital multimeters (DMM) and other testing equipment as measuring tools for electrical and electronic circuits used for power and control applications. In general, it concentrates on traditional electromechanical and inductive equipment found in commercial and industrial residences—motors, transformers, lighting, and power distribution equipment.

In general, this book does not cover testing and Measuring Tools for repairs of the following types of equipment and systems: Communication systems. Use of network cable analyzers, optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs), optical power meters, and other equipment used to test and measure communications systems such as telecommunications, computer local area networks (LANs), and fiber optic networks. This book also tests electronic components such as resistors, small capacitors, and diodes.

This book is divided into 10 chapters:

Chapter 1 will explain analog measuring equipment or tools such as AVO meters and other testing equipment.

Chapter 2 will provide knowledge about Digital Multimeters, including an introduction to how to use them. The next chapter of this book will discuss measuring tools for repairs that are often encountered when analyzing damage that occurs.

Chapter 3 will introduce the problems that will be encountered in measurement instruments.

Chapter 4 explains dry type transformers.

Chapter 5 measuring tools for luminaire repair.

Chapter 6 discusses the problems encountered by electric motors.

Chapter 7 motor bearing testing, chapter 8 discusses Relay problems.

Chapter 9 will discuss the quality of power in a circuit.

The final chapter of this book discusses temperature or thermals in electrical circuits.
