Sugar palm plants are one of the leading commodities in Banten Province whose development must be maintained. The condition of palm trees in Banten Province is currently decreasing due to logging, without replanting. Its existence is a legacy/derivative plant that has very minimal technology. The first development step is the provision of superior sugar palm seeds, appropriate sugar processing techniques.

Apart from technical issues, the level of knowledge and skills of sugar palm farmers is also taken into account. One effort to increase the knowledge and skills of palm farmers can be done by providing learning materials in the form of printed media with the technological substance needed by farmers. Based on the potential and problems that exist at the farmer level, the problems of palm seed propagation and sugar processing from palm sap are still important.

The Banten Province Agricultural Technology Assessment Center is obliged to provide technological material related to the development of these superior commodities. For this reason, this book on "Technology of Sugar Palm Seed Propagation, Palm Water Tapping and Ant Sugar Processing" was prepared. With the preparation of this book, it is hoped that it will be useful for farmers/entrepreneurs in developing sugar palm commodities in Banten Province.
