I don't agree with some men who marry women so easily under the pretext of living out the Prophet's Sunnah, but on the other hand, they carry out their religious obligations very hard, are reluctant to carry out Sunnah practices and don't want to bother studying Sharia knowledge.

How is it possible that his polygamy will bring blessings? Because it is certain that such men will only practice polygamy which is far from sharia guidance and most likely not based on noble intentions and goals.

However, I also strongly object to the attitude of some women who are so arrogant and blindly opposed to polygamy law. They impudently discredit the Shari'a and accuse it of being the cause of all social problems that discriminate against women.

They are also very enthusiastic about forming forums, movements and institutions that specifically deal with women's issues. Both efforts to empower women, defend their rights, provide legal assistance to them, as well as agendas for women's emancipation and gender equality. Not to forget, one of their biggest agendas is achieving their goal of establishing an anti-polygamy law.

So it is not surprising that from these institutions doctrines, views and statements emerge that criticize polygamy law and its perpetrators. They are even able to present soap operas that depict how complicated a polygamous household is and how unfortunate the fate of polygamous wives is.

Therefore, now the rejection of polygamy is not just an individual effort, but has become an organized joint effort. Starting from a housewife, women's activists, to government officials and residents of the presidential palace. Everyone has the same desire, so that husbands do not commit polygamy.

Although there have also been strong reactions from various groups, in response and protest to the attitude of opponents of polygamy. However, this does not stop them from achieving their goal, namely the elimination of polygamy from existing regulations.

Seeing the above phenomenon, the author felt moved to write the ink briefly and simply, in order to provide a brief overview of polygamy based on a shar'i review, so that husbands and wives can understand it correctly, without prioritizing elements of lust and egoism which often drag into decision making. which violates the true rules of the Shari'a.
