São Paulo Futebol Clube is a Brazilian sports club based in the city of São Paulo, capital of the homonymous state. It was founded on January 25, 1930, having interrupted its activities in May 1935, and resumed them in December of the same year.
The same IFFHS elected São Paulo as the best Brazilian team of the 2001–2010 decade, and the second in South America, behind only Boca Juniors, from Argentina. São Paulo is also one of three clubs in the so-called G-12 that have never been relegated to the second division in the Brazilian Championship.
