The club plays in the Premier League and is one of the most successful in football in its country, having won the Premier League title 13 times, being third in number of achievements, and 14 times the FA Cup (record ), is the only one to win the Premier League unbeaten, and also holds the record for the longest period of unbeaten run in the national league. Internationally, it won the UEFA European Cup and the Fair Cities Cup, having already been a finalist in the UEFA Champions League, Europe's main club competition.

Arsenal were the first club from the south of England to join the English Football League, in 1893, reaching the Football League First Division in 1904. They had only one relegation in their history, in 1913, having been in the elite consecutively for a hundred years, since the 1919-20 season, that is, it is the team among the so-called six great English clubs with the fewest relegations. The Gunners had one of their most successful periods in the 1930s and the period just after World War II, in which they won seven championships and three national cups. In 1971, they won, for the first time, both the English Championship and the FA Cup, being the third English team in history to win the so-called double. Between the end of the 1980s and the mid-2000s, the club experienced another good phase, winning its first League Cups, another five national championships, three in the Premier League era, five English cups and the European Cup.
