About this app

Environmental Toxicology Book is an Indonesian Free Book application that contains a summary of the theory of Environmental Toxicology. Toxicology is a branch of science that studies poison. And poison can be defined as a substance which can cause harmful effects to living things; Poisons are substances that work in the body chemically and physiologically which in toxic doses will cause health problems or result in death. The chemical properties of poison when it enters human body tissues will be able to damage red blood cells and nervous system. Following Paracelsus' postulate, a substance is said to be poisonous or not depending on how much the substance or substance is. So that in industrial toxicology it is important to state how much is an estimate of whether a certain substance is toxic or not. Toxicology also includes the study of harmful effects caused by physical phenomena (Hodgson, 2004: 3).

The scope and primary components studied in environmental toxicology concern: (1) the source of the poison โ€” including its type, quantity and nature; (2) distribution in air, soil and water media; (3) and the effects of its toxicity on flora, fauna (wild), plants, livestock, and humans (Sudarjat & Siska Rasiska, 2006: 8).
