In this book, I try to discuss the virtues of the month of Ramadan, and then discuss the fiqh of fasting. Seeing fasting is a seasonal worship, which comes once a year, so maybe when he comes again, we need to remember some of the laws of fasting. Here, even though I prefer to use the opinion of the scholars of the Shafi`i school of thought, in several cases I was "forced" to switch to another school, due to considerations of the argument, environment, and maslahah.

I'm trying to simplify the presentation of the Fiqh of fasting, so that it can help our brothers and sisters who don't have time to attend recitations, find it difficult to get references when they want to fast or for other reasons. I hope this little pamphlet will help. And hopefully it will be a jariyah practice for me and all who have helped so that this book can reach your hands.

Islam is a treatise brought by the Prophet Muhammad which completes the treatises of the previous prophets. Prophet Musa brought treatises that tend to regulate more about the law, halal and haram. Prophet Isa brought a treatise that was more dominant in teaching morals and manners, there was no law there. The Prophet Muhammad closed the message of Allah by bringing laws and morals. We study this legal side in fiqh.

Islam is a way of life, after the Prophet Muhammad died, he only left a "heir", in this case the heir taught us this method. His heirs are the scholars of the people.

This method is known as sharia, which is everything regulated in the Qur'an and hadith. That is what we are not allowed to violate, must be obeyed without a lot of questions and protests. Meanwhile, the laws concluded by the "heir" of the prophet from the Qur'an and hadith are called Islamic fiqh. In other words, Islamic jurisprudence is the result of the "sense of the head" of our former scholars with the guidance of the Qur'an and Sunnah.

The difference between sharia and Islamic fiqh is that Islamic fiqh does not have the "purity" of sharia, meaning that among the many opinions of scholars on an issue, we are allowed to follow one of them, and we are not blamed if we don't follow the others.

Our scholars say that the most noble knowledge is fiqh, because with that knowledge we know what is lawful and what is unlawful. So that we do not cross the red line that God has set. Even in a hadith the Prophet said, "If Allah wants goodness for a servant, then He will teach him the science of religion (fiqh)."


Hopefully this application can be useful as material for study and become a loyal friend anytime and anywhere without having to be online.
