Longing for the Coming of Ramadan: Among the words of previous scholars who show longing for the coming of the month of Ramadan is what was expressed by Yahya bin Abi Katsir Rahimahullah. He said that one of the prayers that the salaf said was the following prayer,

"O Allah, meet me with the month of Ramadan, save Ramadan for me, and accept all my deeds in the month of Ramadan."

O Allah, meet us with Ramadhan: There are two friends, brothers and sisters, one of them is more enthusiastic than the other, and in the end he gets martyrdom.

As for his best friend, died a year later. Talhah radhiallahu 'anhu dreamed that the last person who died had a higher degree than the first. Talha informed this to other friends and they were surprised. So the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,

"Isn't this person alive a year after?" they replied, "Yes." He said: "Didn't he get the month of Ramadan and fast? He has also done this and that prayer with several prostrations in a year?" They replied, "Yes." Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam again said: "Indeed, very much the difference between the two (in virtue) is like between heaven and earth."
