Indeed, fasting is one of the pillars of Islam, which is seen in sincerity, ihsan and trustworthiness, and this is achieved when a fasting person refrains from eating, drinking and things that can cancel it, while he does not refrain from this matter except because muroqobatullah (feeling supervised by Allah Ta'ala) and ru`yah (vision) of Allah upon him.

I have explained in this book about the virtues of fasting, manners and laws, breaking fasts, praying at night in it, lailatul qadar and its virtues. I also explained about I'tikaf, zakat fithri, 'eed prayers and other important matters.

I only ask Allah to make my writing useful for Muslims and to make my actions sincere and only hope for the glorious face of Allah.

In fact, the month of Ramadan is a glorious month with blessings that the Muslims have been waiting for. However, have the Muslims prepared themselves to welcome this great guest? Truly, not preparing oneself in welcoming this noble guest is a loss and dishonor.

Therefore, in welcoming this glorious month, we present to the Muslims, a translation of this very simple little book, as provisions and a brief guide in facing the month of Ramadan.

Hopefully what we are doing can be useful and beneficial for the Muslims and will be a provision for translators to face the day when wealth and children are of no benefit, except for a safe heart. May Allah repay the author of this treatise, Fadhilatusy Shaykh Muhammad bin Jamil Zainu with abundant rewards, for his efforts in spreading da'wah and knowledge. Amen
