This little book you are reading is not a refutation of the film Fitna by Geert Wilders, Chair of the Freedom Party (PVV) faction in the Dutch parliament. The film was horrendous but it was too bad to have the honor of responding. It is very far from objectivity and scientific requirements, nor does it have elements of art or an invitation to harmonious relations between human beings. Therefore, responding to it will only waste time and energy, while there are many other things that really require time and energy.

In the writer's opinion, the attitude above is in line with the message of the Qur'an to ignore the harassers and separate and leave them to find a way to safety in this world and the hereafter. Allah says: describes His servants who acknowledge Him as ar-Rahman (of mercy):

"And the servants of the Most Merciful God (are) people who walk on earth humbly and when ignorant people greet them, they say parting words (for the sake of safety)" (QS. al- Furqan [25]: 63).

It is the guidance above that more or less underlies the author's attitude when refusing the suggestions of many friends who hope that the Center for Al-Qur'an Studies which the author leads will respond to the film.


Hopefully the material content of this application can be useful for self-introspection and better improvement in everyday life.
