About this app

Why is it so hard to find a list or map view of FM radio stations, given any location in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean, that if you turned on your radio - not streaming, you could reliably hear?

Enter RadioLand, the culmination of a research endeavor to reliably predict the signal strengths of FM stations given any spot in North America or the Caribbean. Using either your device's location or a searched for location, with adjustable thresholds, RadioLand queries a database containing every FM radio station in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. Using Longley-Rice propagation data, RadioLand returns a signal strength value that factors in terrain and other obstacles.

View the listings either in list form, or on a map view with color-coded markers representing signal strengths. Each station has a listed programming format and slogan. Filter list or map views by format, slogan, call letters, or frequency.

Coverage maps for select U.S. stations showing their Longley-Rice projections are also available in the app. View a terrain profile to show elevation impediments between your searched for location and the origin radio station.

Customizable searches by frequency, call letters, or additional parameters from a location.

You won't find a more feature-packed app for FM radio listings on Android or iOS, period.

it has been pretty accurate. I'm somewhat beyond the city grade Detroit, MI fm signals on the north side and have received stations from lansing and Flint on the edge of the Detroit HD signals. I do use a huge modified outdoor FM antenna that works quite well if your on the edge of the HD signals but if the HD signal is directly blocking a distant FM signal then it's still pretty much blocked.

This is a very good app and tells you signal strengths of each station accurately and can receive them with my tuner. Note for people complaining about no listen feature: This is not meant to play radio, only to check strengths, format, and other info to listen on an external tuner (such as car radio)
