Signals 4-Channel BBQ Alarm
Signals uses both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for easy setup and flexibility to track your cook in any situation. Bluetooth allows you to connect directly to your smart device, up to 95-feet line-of-sight, so you can use Signals if there is no internet connection. Wi-Fi allows you to track your cook through the internet and ThermoWorks Cloud from anywhere. Compatible with Billows control fan for precise pit control.
ThermaQ Blue Thermocouple Alarm
ThermaQ Blue allows you to measure two thermocouple probes simultaneously. Designed for serious competition BBQ pitmasters and those who want to cook like them. This is where commercial-grade quality and high accuracy meets smart device convenience.
BlueDOT BBQ Alarm, 1-Channel
BlueDOT utilizes your smart devices' Bluetooth to receive information with a communication range up to 95-feet line-of-sight. You can connect up to 6 BlueDOT devices to set high/low alarms, track min/max, and collect graph data.
Smoke Gateway
Smoke Gateway connects Smoke 2-Channel BBQ Alarm to the internet via Wi-Fi to transmit and store information in ThermoWorks Cloud. This allows the ThermoWorks App to review your temperatures, receive alerts, and view graph data from anywhere.
App Requirements:
*Signals, ThermaQ Blue, BlueDOT, or Smoke by ThermoWorks & Smoke Gateway.
*Internet connection required during initial registration of Signals.
*2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Network with internet connection to initially add devices to your account.

Of all the network devices I've dealt with Smoke Gate is #1 pita. First time setup was fine, easy enough. A year later with different phone I can't see Gateway in wifi networks. I believe this pita situation is a result of hard reset not deleting network settings from what I read on the website. That was a mistake to have it that way. I'm on a pixel 8 pro not sure if there's some setting in 2.4 network preventing setup. I thing thermowerks needs and updated troubleshooting guide.

I'm sorry to hear you are having a problem. Once an instrument is attached to your account, it is not removed until you remove it. You should only need to set it up once. The app is useful, but it desperately needs two things: 1) A background mode where it will record data points w/o taking over the display. 2) Screen rotation to portrait mode. Update: Thanks for the reply & info. I tested and found that your app does keep running in background. My experience of lost updates must be due to bluetooth or to android killing the app for resource limits. On my older Lenovo tablet your app does not rotate as other apps do. Probably my tablet is presenting as a phone

We would like more clarification on your recommendations. All of our products will record data points in the app and shouldn't take over the display. Also, our app shows in portrait mode only on phones and will rotate between portrait and landscape mode on a tablet. Please contact apps@thermoworks.com as we are always looking at improvements.

I am glad to see that the app can now talk to the device. But how do I keep it from stalling out? I would expect that I set an alarm, and when the temp is hit, my phone's alarm goes off. Instead, the app times out every time and the temp stops updating, making the app worthless. If you can't get the app to update temps, please at least design a refresh button.

Please mask sure to include exactly which device you are using as we have not had any reports of alarms not working properly or devices timing out.
