Best app I've ever used for learning Chinese. Not only is this the only app with real writing practice, but it has the best and most convenient Chinese-English dictionary I've ever seen. If you look up a word, like 編輯, not only can you look at that words definition, but you can see the individual words (編 and 輯) definitions, the pronunciation and definition of the components of those words (糹and 扁, 車and 咠), and the components of the components (like 口 and 耳 for 咠). Amazing for memorizing.

This is an amazing app, I cannot believe it is free. It has basically everything and more I have ever been looking for. I mainly use it to learn and practice writing chinese characters. It has a very nice SRS system, the ability to create your own decks (though there are already many available e.g. all the HSK 1-6 decks in both simplified and traditional!) and an inbuilt dictionary. The dictionary is one of my favourite CN dictionaries as well, I especially appreciate that it shows how frequent a character/word is used and more importantly: the etymology of the character. It helps immensely with the understanding of the character. If there's anything I would wish was available, it'd be an option where you can choose to grade on your own how well you wrote the character instead of it being done automatically; it isn't always very accurate. But all in all, I am more than satisfied with it. <3 I've been using it for almost a year now and I decided to upgrade my account to pro, just to support the developers. It has been quite a while since the last update; I sure hope that its development hasn't halted, that'd be a real shame.

Its a great free supplement to Rosetta Stone or tutoring. It has many options for language flashcard orders, and with daily streaks, I feel more motivated to practice daily. My only complaint is that the pronunciation and audio quality is all over the place when it comes to audio clips. Some are properly pronounced. Some are obviously an over-confident, non-native student. Some are clear and audible. Some sound like they were recorded from across the room through a paper tube. It's free though
