Outstanding content from an editorial standpoint, and the app has a nice UI, minimalist design, and it's animations flow well. However, it is outrageous that this app has less functionality than looking it up on chrome. No ability to save articles. No ability to look at past issues. No comments. Not even a search bar. As a student the Atlantic is an excellent resource, but not if I'm unable to search for the article I know I need but literally can't search for.

FAIL. Very poorly executed, and well short of the minimum required to be useful. The app requires an internet connection at *all* times and doesn't download content for offline reading, which is a main reason for having an app such as this. It doesn't allow you to explore previous issues of the magazine. I am a subscriber who's considering canceling; a better app might have kept me on a while longer. The user who suggested this was a glorified web browser was not far off. Very disappointing.

Changed my rating to 3* from 1*. The app has an issue where it didn't like certain characters in passwords even though I could log on to the website with the same password. I have notified The Atlantic support team. The app layout looks nice and clean. It is missing some functionality which I have in other news apps - therefore giving it 3* 1. No ability to save articles for reading later / offline reading 2. No ability to search for (older) articles 3. No dark mode Hopefully future versions will add these capabilities and I will update my rating at that point.

What's new
In this update, the mobile app will now save your reading progress. Also, readers can now find all of the Atlantic’s narrated articles in one place in the Discover section of the app.
