Well worth unlocking the full app for the sense of achievement in finally being able to tackle (and appreciate) cryptic crosswords - for so long a frustrating foreign language. I now feel a little more clever and excited for all the extra crosswords I can have a stab at, Private Eye being first on the list. Brilliant! My only criticism is it could do with some quick reference links back to previous chapters/topics.

Wanted to learn about cryptic crosswords and this app does a very good job at explaining the ideas in a straight forward way. The interface isn't distracting and the methods are explained using interactive tools to encourage learning. My only (very minor) gripe is that, as you are learning and input your answers successfully in the tutorials, there is no button to move you forward. You have to go back to a previous screen to then move on. This just felt counter intuitive.

Excellent tutorial on how to solve cryptic crosswords. Someone had tried to teach me some years ago, so I had the basics but this is great. There are tutorials in chapters, (which make it easy to go back and re-read something you arent clear on) with examples and then you get some practice. I am not finished going through all the chapters yet, but I cant wait to get a book with cryptic puzzles to put the lessons to use. This is the first app I have paid to unlock more features, but was worth it.
