About this app

You don't need to be an astronomer to find stars or constellations in the sky, just open SkyView® and let it guide you to their location and identify them. SkyView® is a beautiful and intuitive stargazing app that uses your camera to precisely spot and identify celestial objects in sky, day or night. Find all 88 constellations as they fade in and out while you scan across the sky, locate every planet in our solar system, discover distant galaxies, and witness satellite fly-bys.

The app was fine/good/useful when I could manually shift the object to line up with my view. No amount of figure-eighting is going to calibrate it in my neighbourhood because there's too much interference. Bring back the manual shift calibration, please. It's useless without it. Not good for use in suburbs or cities. Disappointing. It's a good app aside from not being able to line up what you're looking at. Good luck.

Hi. I've installed this app onto a new Samsung S24 + phone and there is no colour on the screen. Just dark grey and black and some red. Objects aren't visible unless the centre of the screen picks it up. This app worked fine on my Samsung S20+ but not on the newer phone. Very disappointing as I did like the app. I've sent an email twice now and have had no response. P.... poor service. Maybe somebody will reply now and sort this problem. I have uninstaller and re installed and it doesn't help.

Update: For some reason, the horizon is at an angle now... not parallel to the actual horizon. Please fix!!! I don't want to look elsewhere for a star finder. Love it! Big help in ID'ing stars, planets, constellations, ISS, etc. Would like to see more on Starlink. I've tried a number of astronomy apps but kept coming back to this one - even upgraded to pro.

What's new

Dear Stargazer,
This version adds a new 8K resolution star field background when the AR camera is turned off (Settings > Display > Augmented Reality Camera). Enjoy!
Best,
