About this app

The official mobile ticketing app of BusPlus – a program of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
The BusPlus app lets you purchase and use intercity and commuter bus tickets instantly on your phone. Here’s how it works:

1. Select your preferred bus operator
2. Choose the type of ticket and quantity
3. Create an account and link your credit/debit card to complete checkout
4. Activate your ticket and show it to the bus driver

An internet connection is required to purchase tickets, but you can use your ticket(s) offline. All personal information and payments are securely transmitted and stored.

Please contact support@bytemark.co for customer service assistance. Any comments or suggestions you may have are welcome. We are aware of problems with the scanning feature while adding new credit cards, and are working to correct this issue.

This is the worst transit app I've had the misfortune to try and use (and worse than most other apps of any kind, come to think of it). It takes several minutes to load each and every intermediary screen. Never once have I been able to pull up a ticket in able to show it promptly when boarding a bus, no matter how much time I give it. This time, it crashed as I stood there with the poor guy waiting on me to depart. It has crashed my entire phone recently as well. Back to carrying change, I guess

After December changes they have now drastically reduced the amount of time a single ticket gives. This would be okay if the transfers worked correctly, but they don't. Also now they're really pushing a QR code aspect that just sucks because the scanners don't work! Back to quarters for me. It's just easier.

I hate this app more than any other. It would better if it just didn't work cause I would have to find alternatives. It's inconsistant. I use it for the free transportation that my college provides but it a huge stressor for it to get a data error and not load my pass. It happens about 1-3 times a week (1 in every 4 trips) this should be a reliable service but it's anything but that.
