"The Bethany Evangelical Community was organized as Bethany Baptist Church on 10/12/1989, at the time with 64 members.
Since its inception, the Bethany Church - as it has become known over the years - has always maintained the brand of being a church that preaches the Gospel, lives in communion and has sought to strengthen families.
On 05/02/1993, Prof. Antônio Pereira de Andrade assumed the shepherding of this ministry, giving evangelism a prominent place and aiming at the expansion of the Kingdom of God, which resulted, in the following years, in the implantation of the cells, as our way of being, as well as in the organization of several churches: Igreja Betânia in the neighborhoods of Santos Dumont, Farol, Clima Bom, Vergel do Lago, Cambona and Aprígio, the latter being organized by his daughter Vergel.
After just over 20 years of a blessed and growing ministry, Pr. Antonio, today our Ap. Antônio Andrade, passed the staff, on July 2, 2015, to his successor, Rev. Antônio Filho, who has remained in this profession ever since.
In these last years, through the kindness and direction of the Most High, we continued to grow, which allowed us to gain many lives in the main church, consolidate countless families in the presence of the Lord and open two new churches: Betânia in Marechal Deodoro and another in Rio Largo in the Jarbas Oiticica.
Also under the guidance of the Eternal, we granted autonomy to each church that had been organized by the Bethany Ministry, contributing decisively so that these daughter churches reached their maturity and then could reach even greater flights, after all, our goal has always been to expand the Kingdom of God.
Finally, with great joy we want to highlight how precious it has been for us to reach many lives that are outside the walls of the temple through virtual instruments that we did not have or underutilized before, but that since the world pandemic in 2020 has become for us a challenge and an achievement, because today our borders have expanded through channels on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.
Finally, for what we have lived in the alignment of the Lord, we express our gratitude to Him, declaring our desire to continue being a CHURCH TO SERVE AND A FAMILY TO LOVE; publicly acknowledging that everything we have experienced was and is the Lord's permission, so we don't stop saying: “TO GOD BE THE GLORY!”.
