Also known as do-ré-mi, bird-of-rice, papa-arroz, xexeu-de-lagoa (Natal/Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará), chupim-do-nabo, hat-de-leather (São Paulo) , casaca (Piauí), cord-black (Pernambuco, agreste and hinterland of Paraíba), rinchão, godelo and blackbird from Bahia (Minas Gerais). It is a bird hunted and coveted by cage keepers.
The garibaldi is a species of bird in the Icteridae family. It is found in the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, French Guiana, Paraguay and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are: swamps and grasslands.
