About this app

Flame Meditation is an app for mindfulness meditation via mindful breathing.

Simply set the duration for your your mindfulness meditation session, configure the inhale, exhale and pause periods and start the timer.

The app will provide a simple prompt for inhalation and exhalation for you to focus on, effectively keeping you mindful of your meditation. Flame Meditation will start to chime when your mindfulness meditation session is over.

The breathing prompts are ideal focal points for your mindful meditation practice, taking your mind away from wandering thoughts about the past, or worry of the future - and just focus on the present -one breath at a time.

Before using your app, set aside a time (like 30 minutes) when you will not be disturbed.

1. Find a quiet place. Ideally a room in your house where you can be at peace.

2. Sit comfortably. You can try sitting cross legged on the floor, or upright in a chair.

3. Position Meditation Device. Place the device with the Flame Meditation app on the floor or table at a suitable distance where you can see the prompts without straining your eyes.

4. Start the app, and follow the prompts.

- Inhalation: On inhale, breath in deeply, and naturally through the nose, flowing all the way down to the navel.

- Pause: hold for a short period, keeping your focus at the prompt, and keeping your thoughts free.

- Exhalation: On exhalation, make a controlled release of your breath, again keeping focus on the your breathing.

- Pause: hold for a short period, as you prepare for your next inhalation.

If your thoughts starts to wander, just refocus back at the breathing prompts.

you may need to adjust the length of your breathing prompts to adapt to your specific breathing tempo. You should not set the period too short making you chase after the prompts, nor too long that it leaves you short of breath.

You can also set the Pause period to zero and incorporate the pause within the Inhalation and Exhalation period.

Flame Meditation app will start its chime when the meditation time is up. Click on the pulsating button to stop the chime, and end your meditation session.
