About this game

"HC And - Blood Test" was developed in collaboration between H.C. Andersen Children and Youth Hospital, Odense University Hospital, hospitalized children and their families and 10:30 Visual Communication.

HC And is patient information for children aged 4-7 years and aims to prepare and reduce anxiety in children for whom many hospital terms are completely unknown. "HC And - Blood test" is not linked to a specific diagnosis.

The information is spoken - by a child's voice - in Danish, English, German or Arabic and animation in the genre "Learning through play with tablet/mobile phone/touch screen".

Children in this age group learn and recognize through play and concrete information. Hospitalized and outpatient children can quickly be "filled up" with a lot of information. Therefore, HC And is built up of short sequences at child's height, so that "newbies" can start here.

The stories in HC And reflect reality and the prescribed clinical guidelines. Hospital staff can use this material as an educational tool to create a common framework of understanding with the child.

The focus is on safety and communication at child height, so that the child can also acquire specific knowledge without the help of adults. We encourage both parents and hospital staff to use the small preparation films in relation to and in line with the children's need for information and preparation.

HC And can also be used as part of the post-treatment when you have returned home and your child needs to process his experiences again and again.

See more at www.hcand.dk. Here you will find an overview of HC And's apps with stories about preliminary examinations, hospitalization and specific diagnostic procedures, as well as the app where Mr. Stem cell tells about the "Body".
